Painting in the open in Serbia
Serbia has recently become a favourite place of the IRIDA artists. An important role in this connection was certainly played by Varvara Medvedeva – a faithful friend of Russian women artists and a patriotic connoisseur of all republics constituting a former Yugoslavia. She rendered them an invaluable help in organizing the most interesting trips in that region. The Muscovites saw ancient orthodox temples of the 9th-13th centuries and availed themselves of hospitality of ‘Shekler Domochinstvo” situated at 1100 m above the sea level.
The itinerary of Russian artists included Rudno, Gradac, Studenitsa.
